Accounting/Tax Intern


Ensuring Chart’s Success…

The Corporate Accounting/Tax/Audit Intern is a key role in the Chart Industries Corporate Accounting and Reporting team located in Canton, GA.  The ideal candidate has a beginning GAAP foundation, as demonstrated with either working on a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a Master’s Degree in Accounting, as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate to and partner with all levels of management. 

 

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Monthly, quarterly and annual close and financial reporting activities, including:
    • Own several accounting projects, including, but not limited to:
      • Excel-based reporting and tracking,
      • Data review and clean-up for various financial systems (including Shared Services and Treasury), and
      • Building SharePoint pages for Finance.
    • Recording corporate journal entries
    • Researching GL account activity
    • Preparing Balance Sheet reconciliations (utilizing BlackLine)
    • Preparing U.S. Census Bureau surveys and reports
    • Assisting with SEC reporting (10-K’s, 10-Q’s, 8-K’s, exhibits in Proxy, earnings releases and other)
    • Preparing ad hoc reports and assisting with special projects, as requested, and
    • Coordinating certain close and other accounting activities with Chart’s accounting teams worldwide, across the US, Europe and Asia, including the implementation of the new lease accounting standard.
    • Identifying and executing process improvements and efficiencies
  • Assisting with coordination of the audit with external auditors, including working with internal audit on at least one internal audit assignment.
  • Assisting the Chart tax department is certain tax filings, including but not limited to Sales and Use Tax and Property Tax returns

 

 

 

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Working on Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a Master’s degree in Accounting
  • At least a Sophomore, Junior or Senior level

Your Education Should Be…

  • Working on Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from 4 year college or university is required (Junior or Senior Year)
  • Working on or planning to work on Master’s degree in Accounting preferred
  • CPA track preferred

 

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Lift up to 15 pounds
  • Sitting, standing, stooping, bending, other related tasks in an office setting
