Job Description

 

Position Summary: The ADS position is in Research and Development and is focused on the Food Care Division’s Non-Shrink product lines.  It is responsible for a range of development, support, and exploratory activities designed to expand the sales of Sealed Air products.

This position performs development, analytical testing, evaluation, documentation, and training to expand the sales of Sealed Air products through the:

  • Development of new packaging materials and concepts.
  • Ensuring safe and suitable technical parameters are identified and tested for the use of Sealed Air/Cryovac packaging materials and systems for food and non-food products.
  • Extension of present materials to new products and applications.
  • Improvements to existing packaging materials, techniques, equipment, and Sealed Air products.
  • Dissemination of technical support to Sealed Air internal and external customers and potential global customers.

 

Qualifications

College Degrees preferred: 

  • B.S. Food Science, Meat Science, Packaging Science or related field and 3-5 years relevant food industry/packaging experience.
  • M.S. Food Science, Meat Science, Packaging Science, Dairy Science or related field with no experience.

Candidate should have a working knowledge and expertise in the areas of food protection, safety, microbiology, shelf life determination, meat science, and sensory attributes to assist in the development of new or improved packaging materials, products, or applications.

 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:   A qualified candidate should either possess the following skills or the ability to acquire them.

  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the food sciences and food production as it relates to packaging materials, equipment and applications.
  • Specific experience with Food Packaging processes, equipment, and applications is desired.
  • Must demonstrate basic knowledge of packaging systems, development processes, and material / equipment interactions
  • Must demonstrate ability to design, lead, and complete project work.
  • Must be proficient in technical writing and oral communication.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with and assist Product and Process Engineers, Customer Equipment Engineers, Sales, Marketing, and Customers.
  • Must demonstrate ability to utilize statistics.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft and Google Applications
  • Up to 50% travel required
