The Direct Sales Representative is responsible for growing the Individual business by providing Life & Health solutions to new and existing customers, following an established sales process.

 

As a Direct Sales Representative, your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Selling Medavie Blue Cross insurance products, including Health, Life and Travel, capitalizing on sales opportunities from inbound customer calls, outbound calls resulting from leads in order to achieve sales targets;
  • Analyzing customer needs in terms of product purchase and using problem solving skills to find creative solutions to meet client needs while proving a highly customer focused experience;
  • Developing and maintaining business relationships with policyholders in order to retain their business and maximize sales opportunities and referrals;
  • Responding to client questions and concerns, including outbound follow-up activity, communicating final decisions before placement of policy and working with clients to resolve any post-sale service issues.
  • Ensuring that our sales team maintains a high Service Level while communicating with clients through telephone, email, fax interaction;
  • Cultivating relationships with potential customers by advising how our products and services can benefit them;
  • Contacting prospective clients with the ability to communicate convincingly over the phone and be able to explain the benefits of purchasing or upgrading our product in a persuasive manner;
  • Establishing a good relationship with our potential clients in order to narrow down the best products in order to increase the possibility of making a sale;

     

 

What you need to succeed:

 

Education: Post-secondary education; Education may be substituted for college education, especially if prior experienec is in Insurance related sales.

 

Work Experience:  Minimum 2-3 years sales experience in solution selling with a consultative approach; some experience in a retail, call center or customer service environment including knowledge of call center telephony and technology.

 

Other Qualifications:        

  • Provincial Life, Accident & Sickness licenses
  • Incumbent will be required to pass the LLPQ program and Provincial exam within 3months of hire;
  • Valid driver’s license as some travel is required for training purposes

 

Computer Skills: Good working knowledge of computers in a Windows and Microsoft Office environment;

 

Language Skills: Bilingualism will be considered an asset for this position
