    This position is located at the 149th MAI SQ, Kelly AFB, San Antonio, Texas. The purpose of this position is to supervise employees who install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.

    Appointment Factors: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

    Area of Consideration: In-State Only. This includes:
    • All currently employed full-time permanent, indefinite, and temporary personnel of the Texas Air National Guard
    • All current members of the Texas Air National Guard.

    Responsibilities

    Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Supervisor
    • Serves as section supervisor, exercising supervisory responsibility over assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations.
    • Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes; implements corrective actions, within authority, to resolve work problems.
    • Supports and explains management programs to subordinates.
    • Implements safety regulatory requirements.
    • Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.

    Compatible Military Assignment Requirement: Applicant must be Duty AFSC assigned to a compatible position in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations upon selection. If selected and not currently Duty AFSC assigned, entrance on duty date will be delayed until assignment in the appropriate Duty AFSC is verified.

    Qualifications
    Specialized Experience :
    To qualify at the WS-13 grade level, your resume must include relevant experience with beginning and ending dates of employment/experience reflecting 36 months in the following: working experiences in performing, training and/or supervising assigned integrated systems repair and maintenance work operations; working and training experiences in the maintenance, repair, and modification of integrated multi-complex avionics systems; and skilled in planning tasks for subordinate workers and expanded knowledge in using the equipment, facilities and materials.

    Education
    Award of the compatible Air Force Specialty Code, Craftsman Seven Skill Level, with the position's compatible unit position assignment, and a high school diploma are mandatory requirements.

    Completion of high school courses in physics, algebra, trigonometry, and computer principles is desirable. Higher academic college courses and degrees that are aligned within the FWS Series 2610 type of work tasks are also desirable.
