Insurance Solicitor (3+ PQE)

Location: Glasgow

Salary: Strong Remuneration + Exceptional Benefits Package

The Role

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Insurance Solicitor (3+ PQE) to join a prestigious Top 50 firm with one of the UK’s most respected Defendant Insurance teams.

You’ll handle your own portfolio of litigated and pre-litigated EL/PL, motor, and disease claims, while also stepping into senior responsibilities, like supervising junior colleagues, shaping client relationships, and contributing to the strategic direction of the team.

This role is future-focused. You’ll be supported to develop your leadership capability, take ownership of high-value, complex work and build a clear pathway toward Senior Associate level and beyond.

With a collaborative Scottish team and a national network of specialists, you’ll gain exposure to some of the most sophisticated insurance work in the market.

The Work

  • Managing a varied caseload of EL/PL, motor and disease claims, including complex and high-value matters
  • Conducting detailed liability investigations and preparing robust, commercially sound strategies
  • Running day-to-day case management, including client liaison, opponent engagement, witness contact and court interaction
  • Providing high-quality advice on all aspects of personal injury litigation and insurance law
  • Supporting Partners on major cases and assisting with business development initiatives
  • Delivering client training, contributing to networking activities and supporting client development plans
  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers and paralegals, helping build capability within the team
  • Ensuring compliance with KPIs, SLAs and quality standards while contributing to continuous improvement

Your Experience

  • 3+ PQE with strong experience in Defendant Insurance Litigation or Personal Injury
  • Confident in handling EL/PL matters; exposure to motor, fraud or disease work is advantageous
  • Strong understanding of Scottish Court procedures (Sheriff Court & Court of Session)
  • Excellent technical drafting, analytical and advocacy skills
  • Strong organisational ability and capable of managing competing deadlines under pressure
  • A team-oriented solicitor who also thrives with autonomy and client exposure
  • Committed to professional growth, leadership development and long-term progression

Why This Role?

  • Join a highly respected, L500-ranked Insurance team within a Top 50 UK national firm
  • Opportunities to take on early leadership responsibilities and actively shape your career trajectory
  • Exposure to sophisticated, high-value cases and high-profile insurer and public-sector clients
  • A culture that prioritises growth, collaboration and work-life balance
  • Hybrid working, flexible arrangements and long-term career visibility
  • Generous remuneration, excellent benefits package and clear pathways toward senior roles
