Management Accountant (In-house)

Inhouse Management Accountant (Fixed Term Contract up to 42000)

Location: Exeter or Abingdon (Hybrid 3 days office / 2 days home)

Contract: 8-month FTC (until June/July 2026)

We're looking for an experienced Inhouse Management Accountant to join our Fire Safety division on an 8-month fixed‑term contract providing cover while one of our team takes a well‑earned sabbatical to go travelling.

Working as part of a small close‑knit finance team (with support from a wider centralised group at Head Office) you'll play a key role in supporting the Business Finance Manager to deliver accurate, timely and meaningful financial reporting.

What you'll be doing

Supporting month‑end reporting, including preparation and review of journals, accruals and prepayments.

Partnering with operational stakeholders to help them understand financial performance.

Reviewing margins, costs and variances to ensure accuracy and control.

Assisting with forecasting and budgeting activities.

Helping to drive process improvements and ensure data integrity.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in inhouse management accounting (or an experienced Assistant Accountant ready to step up).
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail; accuracy is key.
• A positive proactive attitude and the ability to quickly pick up new systems and processes.
• Someone comfortable working in a fast‑paced growing business.
