Key task and responsibilities:
- Provide detailed research reports and models on potential investments.
- Maintain models and reports on existing holdings.
- Investigate Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) factors.
- Present and discuss ideas with members of the team.
Experience Required:
The candidate will have proven analytical experience in equity research. The role will suit a highly motivated self-starter who will prepare material that will contribute to stock selection within the portfolio. They should be a strong team player and highly effective at communicating ideas. They will be able to demonstrate clarity and independence of thought and research, generating their own stock models and be able to source ideas from screens and independent thought rather than from broker recommendations.
They should show strong initiative. They should also be aligned with the philosophy of the desk which is long‑term oriented and incorporates ESG. We anticipate the successful candidate is required to have a minimum of 4 years’ post graduate experience with a minimum of 2 years’ equity research from either the buy or sell side. Asian & GEM equities related experience is preferred but also open to consider other geographies.
The candidate will be highly proficient at writing detailed investment analysis and constructing financial models on companies. They will have experience of monitoring the performance of investments and will be able to demonstrate this.
Minimum Experience Required:
- The candidate will have excellent academic qualifications, will be educated to degree level, preferably with an advanced degree, proficient in accountancy and ideally will have a professional qualification such as a Charted Accountant.
- CFA qualified or level 2+ candidate
- They should be adept at constructing financial models on companies.
- They must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly in both written and oral form in English.
- They will be skilled at using systems such as Bloomberg, Reuters and Factset and using Microsoft Word and Excel.
