The Role

The Junior Reserving Analyst will support the reserving function within the Actuarial team, assisting with calculation, validation and communication of claims liabilities across a wide range of insurance and reinsurance lines. The role provides exposure to both technical and commercial aspects of actuarial work, combining data analysis, modelling and reporting to stakeholders throughout the Group.

Key Accountabilities

• Support quarterly reserving processes.
• Validate and process key reserving datasets.
• Draft presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.
• Support annual parameterisation exercises and assumption setting analyses.
• Collaborate with underwriters, claims teams and pricing actuaries to develop understanding of Fidelis’s lines of business.
• Assist with natural catastrophe and large loss assessments.
• Improve processes to enhance efficiency and reporting quality.
• Participate in ad‑hoc actuarial projects as required.
• Begin working toward actuarial qualification (study package offered).

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, Economics or another numerical field.
• Graduate or 1‑year of experience.
• Strong intellectual and mathematical acumen with excellent academic results.
• Clear and confident communication skills, oral and written.
• High attention to detail and ability to multi‑task.
• Strong critical thinking and data interrogation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality work within tight deadlines.
