Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

We are seeking an experienced ED RN to join a high volume Emergency Department with both ED and TCU capacity. The department includes 35 ED rooms plus 15 hallway beds (about 50 total beds shared between ED and TCU), and patients may be placed in any bed throughout the unit. The ED also contains a 6 room locked Behavioral Health ED (BHED) area within the department.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid triage, assessment, stabilization, and ongoing emergency care for adult and pediatric patients across ED and TCU beds
• Initiate and manage ED protocols including IV access, labs, imaging, medications, fluids, and continuous monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians, EMS, BHED staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe throughput and appropriate placement
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR and support unit flow in a fast paced environment
• Respond to high acuity emergencies, behavioral health presentations, and fluctuating unit needs

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license or compact license (must be valid at submission)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• Flu vaccine required
• Strong emergency nursing, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable working in a large, high volume ED with flexible bed placement and behavioral health capacity
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend or every 3rd weekend, based on staffing needs
