RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work in a 22-bed medical/surgical unit with a maximum patient ratio of 6:1

• Provide care for 4-6 patients at a time

• Perform standard nursing skills including IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, and communication with care team members

• Handle continuous bladder irrigation and NGT insertion/maintenance

• Document patient care in Meditech EMR system

• Work with standard medical equipment

• Care for medical/surgical patients including neurology patients with CVAs, TIAs, and altered mental status

• Float to other med/surg units as needed

• Must have 1+ years of acute med/surg experience within the last year

• 2+ years of experience working with neurology patients preferred

• Day shift includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 PCAs, 1 unit secretary, and 0-2 sitters

• Night shift includes 4 RNs, 1-2 PCAs, and 0-2 sitters

• Friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused personality required

• Scrubs dress code required
