Payroll Officer
Join a thriving hospitality company as a Payroll Officer. We’re looking for a passionate and experienced payroller to join a well-respected organisation on an initial ongoing basis. Immediate start available.
Based in the CBD, this temporary role offers the opportunity to work with a small, dedicated team while ensuring the smooth and compliant payroll processing during a busy period of system improvements around PayGlobal.
Base pay range
A$90,000.00/yr - A$95,000.00/yr
The Role
- Process fortnightly payroll across various business units.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, tax laws, and workplace policies.
- Manage employee leave balances, including annual, sick, and special leave.
- Advise on wage control, award interpretations, and penalty rates.
- Oversee end-of-financial-year payroll obligations and reporting.
- Maintain and update employee records accurately.
- Stay informed on legislative changes impacting payroll and entitlements.
- Generate and analyse payroll reports, identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
- Drive efficiencies in payroll processing, including assisting with the implementation of a new payroll system.
- Compensation: $50‑60/hr + Super – Competitive hourly rate.

Requirements
- 2‑3+ years of experience in full‑function payroll.
- Experience using PayGlobal is ideal but not essential.
- Work on a payroll of more than 2000.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and analytical skills.
- Available to start within the next 2 weeks.
- Ability to interpret industry awards and enterprise agreements.
- Experience processing high volumes of payroll data.
- In‑depth knowledge of payroll procedures, tax, and superannuation regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in payroll calculations, leave entitlements, and termination payments.
