Plant Controller (Aquasana)

The Aquasana plant controller reports to the finance director. Duties include coordinating accounting day to day activities, driving month end deliverables, and plan and direct manufacturing cost accounting activities to ensure the integrity and presentation of cost for manufactured products.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Manage accounting processes for division and ensure month end close processes are completed timely and in adherence with generally accepted accounting procedures (GAAP)
  2. Plan, Study and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, labor, and overhead are appropriately assigned.
  3. Responsible for coordination and successful completion of annual cost roll.
  4. Reviewing the accounting completions and variances concerning production orders
  5. Maintain a professional working relationship with other departments to correct and improve procedures to reflect accurate manufactured products cost. 
  6. Assist in the coordination and implementation for physical inventories, if needed
  7. Responsible for developing annual overhead standards and periodically reviewing those standards.
  8. Reconcile and research variances in inventory arising from corrections in BOM content, cycle counting, physical inventories and errors.
  9. Researches and prepares reporting of manufacturing variances.
  10. Assist in the preparation of the Manufacturing budget
  11. Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services for new and existing products.
  12. Work with Corporate Tax to provide any necessary information to ensure all compliance reporting are met.
  13. Strong general ledger experience and review of monthly P&L trends to identify completeness and accuracy of financial statements.
  14. Publish month end reports financial statements to executives.
  15. Responsible for maintaining and developing reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts.
  16. In depth understanding of (ERP/SAP) and other software systems such as BPC and BI tools utilized for accounting and reporting of financials.
  17. Plan and coordinate with Internal and external audit to provide necessary statements and documentation when requested
  18. Prepare and post journal entries.
  19. Provide cross-functional support and lead specific business initiatives/projects and to help ensure financial goals are met.
  20. Partner with other departments and serving as a business partner. 
  21. Responsible for developing, documenting, and maintaining policies and procedures for areas of responsibility.
  22. Perform other ad hoc activities analysis and offering solutions as needed or as directed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with preference for a CPA
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred
  • Advanced Knowledge of GAAP.
  • Demonstrated business partnering and presentation skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision and work in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both orally and written, especially communication of financial results and information
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and present complex data to Executive Management
  • Strong attention to detail and high organization skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen
