Job Description

The Market Development Representative is responsible for supporting the Global Sales teams through lead generation and client development initiatives. This includes identifying sales opportunities through direct prospecting and qualification of all inbound and outbound leads via the phone, web, email, corporate events and direct mail campaigns with SAP Concur’s largest customers. The Market Development Representative is also responsible for collaborating with the Marketing team to provide campaign follow-up, event support and contact acquisition for both prospect and client accounts. The Market Development Representative reports to the Manager of Field Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively call into accounts by utilizing and maintaining our corporate database
  • Partner with Global Sales Executives and Global Client Sales Executives to engage with targeted accounts and build relationships with key decision makers to identify project and business needs
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing team to support Account Based Marketing and Field Marketing initiatives, campaigns and events
  • Qualify all inbound and outbound leads
  • Effectively communicate SAP Concur’s value propositions to key decision makers regarding appropriate SAP Concur product offerings
  • Transfer qualified leads to the appropriate Global Sales Executive and Global Client Sales Executives for continued progression in the sales cycle
  • Build and maintain strong relationship with stakeholders through clear communication and follow-up
  • Develop and maintain a high-level of knowledge about SAP Concur’s products and services
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the territory, marketplace, competitive offerings and other business issues relevant to the position
  • Achieve monthly pipeline goals set by leadership team

Position Requirements:

Education, Experience & Training required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in sales, phone-based lead generation, marketing or business
  • 5+ years of experience in phone-based lead generation, inside sales and/or business development activities
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office is strongly desired
  • Strong written and verbal communication required

    Job Specific Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • Must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and have high energy.
  • Must be motivated by cold calling, asking probing questions and gathering information.
  • Must be a team player with strong initiative, excellent PC skills and ability to quickly build extensive knowledge of SAP Concur’s product offerings and that of competitors.

    Critical Performance Competencies:

  • Must be able to process information gathered quickly and effectively to overcome
  • objections.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work aggressively to meet customer and marketing/sales driven deadlines.
