Teen Pregnancy Prevention Educator

Mission West Virginia, Inc., a non-profit in Putnam County, has teen pregnancy prevention educator opportunities to work with middle and high school youth. Bachelor's degree in Health, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services and/or Education preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

o Effectively deliver evidence-based curricula for program participants, reinforcing age-appropriate language and medically accurate instructional strategies.
o Train new educators on evidence-based curricula. (Lead Educator)
o Assist Regional Coordinator in reviewing the most current CDC, NIH, and state and local vital statistics to ensure program materials adhere to medical accuracy. (Lead Educator)
o Ensure enrollment forms and attendance data are entered into OPTS in a timely fashion.
o Assist the Regional Project Director in identifying and securing program sites to host educational programming for project youth.
o Provide services using a trauma-informed approach, reinforcing positive youth development. Screen for trauma exposure and refer for services as needed.
o Assist in coordinating and hosting special events throughout the community.
o Prepare reports as required and develop and maintain project resources.
o Attend trainings, community meetings, and events as directed by supervisor.
o Follow all requirements and guidelines of program funder under the guidance of supervisor.
