Claims Administrator I

As the Claims Administrator, you will manage and administer claims on behalf of contracted carriers and technicians. You’ll also review property damage claims from Profit Center Managers, complete the investigations, and resolve the claims. What you’ll do on a typical day:  

  • Conduct claim investigations including recording statements, securing public records, and analyzing report findings   

  • Ensure insurance compliance of contracted carriers and technicians, in accordance with the terms of their contract 

  • Review and audit estimates received and settle claims within prescribed limits of authority   

  • Examine claim forms and other records to confirm coverage for loss or damage   

  • Issue payments or deny claim in a timely manner in accordance with policy conditions   

  • Effectively negotiate settlements with contractors, adjusters, or any insured representative   

  • Recognize and document subrogation and salvage opportunities and refer accordingly  

What you need to succeed at XPO:  

At a minimum, you’ll need:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent  

  • 1 year of claims adjusting experience 

  • Proven ability to confidently resolve issues and negotiate fair settlements 

  • Highly organized with proven ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines 

  • Basic knowledge of Windows applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)  

  • Demonstrated strong written communication skills; excellent attention to detail and accuracy  

It’d be great if you also have:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management  

  • Adjuster’s license 

  • 1 to 3 years of experience adjusting property claims   

  • Knowledge of contracts and transportation industry claims   

  • Strong empathetic interpersonal skills; excellent listening and communication skills with ability to build collaborative relationships inside and outside of the organization 

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
