BUSINESS CONTRIBUTION:

The ICS Manufacturing Specialist III position includes but is not limited to production, receiving, shipping, inspection, and training. This position also ensures all quality standards are met, and supports team members in their daily goals, solves technical problems, and proactively prevents equipment and process issues. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Operate all machinery and equipment within the department to a high production standard. (i.e. cold press, sintering press, laser, power- pack, hand tools, etc.)
  • Follow all operational documentation requirements
  • Produce at standard rates with highest quality
  • Investigate shortfalls in production output and participate in problem solving
  • Adhere to industry and Blount safety and quality standards and process, including:
  • Wear all required personal protection equipment (PPE)
  • Read and follow SDS procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for employees and visitors
  • Operate all segment manufacturing, manual and pneumatic tools, material handling and packaging equipment safely
  • Report injuries, accidents, and hazards
  • Monitor effects of improvement processes
  • Assist Engineers with development and testing of new/modified machinery and equipment
  • Assist Quality Specialist with incoming component/product inspections and production inspections/audits
  • Assist in organizing job orders and prioritizing work load for the week
  • Identify labor needed to fulfill orders
  • Monitor production daily
  • Confirm component availability
  • Identify component/inventory needs and communicate to supervisor and planning
  • Monitor physical component inventory and safety stock and report any gaps to appropriate personnel
  • Maintain inventory levels
  • Perform cycle count inventories and communicate appropriate adjustments in ERP system
  • Identify training needs in team and maintain team development documentation
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members; foster positive relationships
  • Train new operators and cross-train in other areas as needed
  • Attend required training classes
  • Make sound decisions based on quality, cost, and delivery
  • Recommend changes to improve processes, equipment, or test methods
  • Inform and consult w/supervisor and planner on weekly schedule issues
  • Provide honest, un-biased feedback and critique
  • Maintain open communication through conversation and both formal and informal documents
  • Adhere to departmental documentation requirements, regarding production and testing

 

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with basic math

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 3-4 years of experience in a high volume manufacturing environment preferred
  • 1-3 years of mechanical experience (i.e. small engine repair and/or experience with hydraulic machines systems or other similar, etc.) preferred
  • 1-3 years hydraulic and or pneumatic press experience preferred 
  • Experience with inventory monitoring/management within ERP system. 
  • Familiar with mechanical hand tools and power tools
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage own tasks with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ease in working with members of all levels of organization
  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner
  • Solve problems (troubleshoot) analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions
  • Able to multitask and adapt to sporadic changes in priorities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) statistical analysis (EZ Charts) and data management software (SAP preferred)

 

WORKING HOURS:

  • Available to work on site as required by job, including rotating and extended shifts (rotating shift schedule):
  • Day shift: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Swing shift:  4:00 p.m. to midnight
  • Graveyard shift:  Midnight to 7:30 a.m.
