Design Technology Manager

The Design Technology Manager will provide leadership and direction to the Design Technology functions at DaySpring. Utilize technology, industry best practice, and process improvement to enable the DaySpring design community to more effectively create products while simultaneously working to ensure that the products can be procured. The role bridges the gap between creative design and product production. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Design Technology Team.
  • Assist and advise the Product Development, Supply Chain and Design teams in areas of engineering, digital workflow, and smart design.
  • Serve as the primary interface to Hallmark and to our vendor base for engineering, digital workflow and smart design.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

This person must have a good understanding of design principles. They simultaneously must understand systems and how data is administrated with in the product development process.

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in the supply chain, product development, or manufacturing 
  • 5+ years of management experience


  • Technical degree in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Design Technology, Printing Technology.
  • APICS certifications a plus, or a willingness to pursue CSCP (Certificated Supply Chain Professional)
  • Strong problem solving abilities with the capability to take ownership of an issue and drive it to a conclusion with little direction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  The desired candidate will be communicating with vendors in different countries and will be representing DaySpring and our core values.  They will also be working with most internal departments at DaySpring including VP level and Senior Leaders.  The ability to professionally communicate a clear message is critical to this role.
  • Critical thinking skills.  The ability to frame up a problem, collect data, analyze facts, and draw valid conclusions from a variety of data sources is important.
  • Detail Oriented.  There is a high need for accurate data and information including costing, project due dates, inventory levels, discard threats, and understanding of business rules and policies.  The ability to stay organized and sift through a large volume of data is essential.
  • Strong influence skills with peers and managers in other departments to keep programs on track and to ensure that best business practices are being utilized while trying to deliver product offerings successfully to market.
