Design Engineer

Summary

The Design Engineer is responsible for supporting Engineered Cabs’ growth strategy by producing integrated, timely and solution-based product design.  The candidate will have a record of strong design performance and proven ability to collaborate with both external customers and internal customers (manufacturing).  This role will leverage industry trends and customer-centric feedback to develop designed-with-purpose products.  In this way, the right candidate will possess a collaboration and communication skill to transform customer functional requirements into product specifications and designs.  Primary responsibilities include design creation with consideration of customer needs, manufacturing processes, cab component packaging and engineering principles.

Responsibilities

Product designs completed on time and budget with required level of drawing quality

Production support as needed

Customer interaction

Approval of accurate drawings

Cross department support (not including production)

Completes significant revisions and ECO’s

Specify welding parameters

 

Desired Experience

Deep understanding of engineering processes and product manufacturability

Problem structuring / resolution: Seeks to understand the root of an issue before solving.  Once understood, moves to resolve the issue in a timely and collaborative manner

Strong communicator: Should seek constant and conscious exchange of information with their internal and external customers

Team Oriented:  Understands the importance of and thrives in a collaborative Team environment where a positive attitude required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)

Experience with Pro-Engineer or similar 3D modeling software

Experience in Product Development in low volume production environments

Knowledge of basic manufacturing practices

Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
