Regional HR Manager

About the Role

How you will contribute

  • Partner with the Regional/site Manager(s) and Leadership team to ensure a complete understanding of the organizational, staffing and headcount needs and objectives.  Lead HR programs and initiatives for multiple sites within your assigned Region.
  • Answer routine inquiries and perform public contact duties involving the collection, verification, and / or dissemination of human resources information on various topics such as; testing, records, wages, procedures on absences, hiring procedures, and company policies and procedures.
  • Review applications and interview applicants.  Assist with various activities such as recruitment, orientation sessions, and applicant testing.
  • Gather information for and prepare reports.
  • Compose and distribute communications and or letters that require knowledge of established departmental procedures.
  • Develop, maintain, analyze and / or assist with various human resources activities and procedures including but not limited to; workforce planning, succession planning, safety oversight, WSIB management, attendance management, turnover management, community outreach initiatives, legislation compliance, performance management, and annual compensation management.
  • Prepare, process, and assist payroll and payroll related records as needed.
  • Respond to Union (if applicable) and Governmental formal complaints.
  • Negotiate and play an active role in Collective Bargaining Agreements (if applicable).
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Your Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, labor relations, business, or a field related to the position.  JHSC (Joint Health and Safety Committee) member preferred.
  • Experience performing basic human resources, payroll, customer service, or general office duties.
  • Familiar with ISO standards is an asset.
  • Proficiency on computers and Microsoft Office products as well as HRIS Systems.
  • Strong interpersonal / communication skills – able to communicate and establish effective working relationships with all departments.
  • Ability to travel 25%.
