POSITION SUMMARY

Lead holistic promotional strategy for Sephora – leveraging data driven insights, digital and retail marketing approach and strong cross functional partnership. This role helps to create strategy, executes all campaigns and hindsights on critical promotional campaigns driving the dotcom and retail business.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with SMM and Director to lead annual, quarterly and monthly strategy development and execution for all promotional campaigns:
    • Create optimal promo structure to meet business objectives and drive desired client behavior, taking into account past promo hindsights and other key insights
    • Own holistic annual/monthly calendar of events in partnership with marketing vehicles
    • Partner with Marketing & Creative teams to drive optimal marketing support
    • Drive testing plan to drive optimization across all promo programs
    • Partner with Sampling Innovation and Personalization teams to integrate tests into campaigns once proven successful
    • Support Director in partnering with PdM to develop and test new digital feature enhancements
  • Cross-Functional Marketing Lead:
    • Build reciprocal partnerships cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization: merchandising/brands, creative, store marketing, store education, loyalty, and analytics teams
    • Employ a strategic approach to process; organize and manage work effectively
    • Influence across all levels to ensure campaigns get executed on-time and on-strategy
    • Manage day to day trouble shooting with team (and help solve for pain points)
  • Generates analytical findings in partnership with the Analytics team to improve ongoing and future strategies:
    • Develop annual forecast for sampling strategy
    • Lead quarterly and annual hindsight process
    • Partner with Analytics on creating a bottoms up monthly financial plan
  • Help SMM and Director develop team:
    • Serve as mentor and role-model to direct reports, junior team members and cross-functional partners, even in the absence of a direct-reporting relationship

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years in marketing experience and consumer-based online experience, preferably retail
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • Proven strategic thinker; able to leverage large sets of data to drive insights and make decisions
  • Proven ability to lead, build relationships, and work effectively in a highly cross-functional and matrixed team
  • Proactive problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate obstacles and quickly generate alternate solutions/ideas
  • Ability to multi-task, managing multiple projects, people, and initiatives while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Leads direct reports and builds development plan for team
  • Honed written and verbal communication skills; confidence in presenting point of view in multiple forums, including leadership level
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with ability to effectively prioritize
  • Creative self-starter with can-do positive attitude and a roll-up-your-sleeves approach
  • Personable and flexible with demands and changes in extremely fast-moving business environment
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships with business partners at all levels
  • Excellent technical skills – MS Office (specifically advanced Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
