RCR Mining Technologies – Heat Treatment Division has an exciting career opportunity for a motivated Trade Assistant / Technician to join our team at our Welshpool Workshop.
This role offers a fantastic pathway to becoming a qualified Heat Treatment Technician— perfect for someone eager to learn, work hands‑on, and build a long‑term career in the industry.
About the Role
As part of our experienced Heat Treatment team, you will receive comprehensive training to perform a range of duties including:
- Testing and quality control of Heat Treated products
- Monitoring Heat Treatment operations and managing non‑conformities
- Maintaining workflow to ensure on‑time delivery of treated materials
- Receiving and despatching Heat Treatment products
- Loading and unloading furnaces
- Performing product testing to specifications
- Setting up mobile Heat Treatment equipment (combustion and electrical)
About You
We’re looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and keen to learn. To be considered, you’ll ideally have:
- A High Risk Forklift Licence (essential)
- The following tickets (preferred but not required — training provided):
- Dogging / Elevated Work Platform / Working at Heights / Confined Space
- The ability to perform manual and physical work safely and efficiently

RCR Heat Treatment has a furnace workshop in Welshpool, Perth, equipped with a range of furnaces to cover a large variety of industrial heat treatments. Modular furnace panels also allow furnace‑style heat treatment to be completed at client sites. To meet our client’s specific needs we maintain a wide range of specialised electrical and combustion heating equipment.
