Join to apply for the Cable Jointer (Technical Cable Jointer) role at Future Power WA.
This is a full‑time role (minimum 38 hours per week) with a remuneration of $150,000‑$170,000 per annum, commensurate with skill and experience.
Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cable Jointer (or 3 years of relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualifications).
• Experience completing XLPE terminations and joints.
Responsibilities
- Work with and interpret technical drawings.
- Prepare job as required.
- Assemble and erect electrical equipment, perform jointing and related infrastructure tasks.
- Joint and terminate underground HV/LV power cables.
- Perform HV terminations on various types of switchgear.
- Install earthing/earth grids for substation HV assets.
- Perform LV works including pillar installation and terminations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electrical systems.
- Install ground and pole‑mounted switchgear, lighting, underground conduits, cables, switchboards and distribution boards.
- Conduct testing and commissioning activities for electrical installations.
- Build, maintain and optimise power distribution networks.
- Ensure compliance with installation documentation and safety programmes.
- Maintain regular liaison with on‑site clients to ensure projects run smoothly.
- Participate in quality and safety programmes, plant and equipment management, and compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental systems.
