Required to perform clinical laboratory testing and other necessary duties to keep the department functioning smoothly. Will work with self discipline, good judgment, and considerable independence while following established standards of practice. Overall will demonstrate technical competency and will consult with leadership when necessary. Needs to recognize responsibilities of other laboratory and health care personnel and interact with respect for their jobs and patient care. Understand the use and limitations of laboratory instruments and equipment, must demonstrate proficiency in assigned areas, be able to learn and utilize new technology as laboratory medicine changes. Must be able to work with growth and development needs of unique client populations for the all age groups. Perform laboratory testing according to established standards and regulations to assist the provider in diagnosis and treatment of the patients.


This position is a day shift float position that requires working in multiple areas of the lab and includes 2 weeks of morning hospital draw each month and approximately every third weekend.

The Bismarck Lab services a level II emergency and trauma center, and a 220 plus bed hospital. Areas of testing include chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology and histology.

Requires current North Dakota license. preferably registered as a MLS, CLS (ASCP) or equivalent. No clinical laboratory experience required. Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college with a degree in Medical Technology including the successful completion of 1 year internship in an accredited school of Medical Technology;
