We need a designer.... but not just any designer. Truth be told, we're a little (okay, a lot) picky at Easy, Tiger. As a designer on our team you'll be responsible for developing original products as part of a highly collaborative (and opinionated) team. We're looking for a highly skilled self-starter, with experience in print as well as 3D product design. You should have a sense of humor, an appreciation of dry wit and the ability to debate and take input to get to the best outcome. We'll require you to develop a strong understanding of our brand and use that to bring fresh ideas and your own unique spin to Easy, Tiger...  but don't take it personally if we tell you it's stupid. It's all about getting the right product.

We're a small team with nowhere to hide.  You'll be extremely involved in the products we design from day one (right after we show you where the bathrooms are). You'll do it all, from dog bandanas to daily planners... and everything in between. We debate, create, sometimes swear, and do whatever it takes. Flexibility, humor, and the ability to handle a fast-paced workload with a high volume of change will serve you well. We want someone who is just as passionate about our brand as we are, and spoiler alert, that's a lot. We work hard, really hard... but we love what we do so you should too. Our team members are like family to us, and we care for them just the same.

As part of our line we design many complicated, extremely detailed, multiple page books... 400+ pages sometimes, but who's counting? Well, you will be if you work for us. Speaking of, you should have a burning passion for typography. Not just the glamorous world of hand lettering, but down and dirty typesetting too. Words are a big part of Easy, Tiger and we use them a lot... so these skills are important. Have you ever been irrationally angry about the space between two letters on a sign? You sound like a great fit...  maybe not a blast at parties but that's okay, neither are we.

As the Easy, Tiger designer we will expect you to:

  • Design great stuff
  • Design great stuff the right way - understand the marketplace and what makes a product successful; the greatest idea is worthless unless it's commercially viable
  • Learn and balance the sides of product development; merchant brand strategies, line plans, price points, manufacturability, and overall creative and trend direction need to be considered for each item
  • Once you learn our brand, riff off of it to show us what you've got. Great product starts with great concepts and ideas; we want you to have those too
  • Work and play well with others. Partner with other disciplines (such as packaging, engineering, costing, quality) and vendors to produce the final product
  • Create detailed, accurate product design packages for production vendors while meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Stay inspired by market research, have a passion for retail and translate trends into great product that consumers don't even know they need
  • Be proficient in the big three Adobe products, with a special nerdy love for InDesign

Your work will be directed and approved by the master designer or creative product development director.
