Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring a MO or compact RN license, BCLS, and NIH certification.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital
- Night shift, 3x12 hour schedule from 19:00 to 7:30
- Patient ratios are 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
- Required to work 6 weekend shifts within a 6 week period
- Floating required within the hospital and to affiliated hospitals as needed
- Uses Epic EMR; experience preferred
- Care involves telemetry monitoring, cardiac medications and drips (no titration)
- Navy blue uniforms required
- Provide care to adult patients with cardiac monitoring needs
- Administer cardiac medications and monitor for rhythm changes
- Work every other weekend and cover holidays as assigned
- Facial hair must allow for proper fit testing for masks
- No on-call required for this position
- No local travelers accepted; standard travelers may remain for an 18-month period with a 3-month break required after
- Maximum of 7 days requested time off per 13-week contract, with none allowed in the first week
- Free staff parking available on site
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry nursing experience
- Certifications: BCLS and NIH required; ACLS and CPI preferred
- Experience reading telemetry rhythms
- Epic charting experience preferred
- No candidates living within a 75-mile radius accepted
- First-time travelers accepted
- No artificial or nail enhancements; must wear approved footwear
- Candidates who were permanent employees must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
- Must be able to complete module training prior to start
