Manager, Leadership and Career Development

The overall purpose of this role is to help leaders develop in their roles and build a long-term career at Rogers as we continue to make Rogers the best place in Canada for developing people. Reporting to the Director of Leadership Development, this position will be working closely with the Organizational Development team, HR and business leaders, to design and deliver leading-edge practices for development planning


Primary Activities and Responsibilities: 


  • Oversee the company-wide career development portfolio at Rogers
  • Manager national career development offerings and support across the business
  • Interface with internal clients and senior leaders to define support for personal and professional development in each business unit
  • Leverage insights and data to drive importance of personal and professional development 
  • Assess the company’s needs and design and implement career development resources, tools and programs to support employees and managers personal and professional development
  • Carry out needs assessments to understand business needs and resources required through consultation with key stakeholders, HR partners, business leaders
  • Actively collaborate with client groups, greater Organizational Development team, HR and corporate communications.
  • Manage development and delivery of company wide projects/initiatives on time and on budget
  • Establish program key objectives, tracks project metrics and tracks key milestones and deliverables
  • Project manage the design and implementation of enterprise-wide programs, training, online tools and resources
  • Lead development planning presentations and training sessions for our leadership community
  • Coordinate resources to assist in the consistent delivery of materials and programs across the OD function
  • Design and manage communications and materials required around career development and career pathing
  • Work collaboratively with team members across OD and HR, to ensure career development initiatives are integrated across streams of work (e.g., leadership development programs, HR planning)
  • Help manage online systems (e.g., SuccessFactors, Rogers Development Hub, online learning) to ensure consistency in messaging and quality
  • Research and apply best practices to design and implement effective practices 


Preferred Qualifications: 


  • University degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behavior/Development, Business Administration/Management, or related major field of study
  • 5 or more years of experience required in Organizational Design, HR, Career  and leadership development
  • Experience successfully implementing and executing programs in large, complex and multi-matrix organizations


Knowledge and Skills: 


  • Proven ability to collaborate across functional and divisional boundaries, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to achieve results
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment
  • Excellent project management skills and detail oriented, demonstrated experience with large-scale, enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and successfully complete complex projects within defined timelines.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience in interpreting human capital and organizational data and information for the purpose of decision support to the function and enterprise
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment of constant change
  • Makes decisions in a timely manner, even under ambiguous situation
  • Proven ability to be flexible and manage through ambiguity
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
