Merck Research Labs is currently recruiting for a co-op within the Infections Disease and Vaccines group. The candidate should  have experience with laboratory techniques such as cell culture, WesternBlotting or ELISA, PCR, transfection, and other molecular biologytechniques.  The goal of this experience would be to workwith scientists developing medicines for the treatment or prevention ofinfectious diseases.  Knowledge ofMicrosoft office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and graphing software (GraphPadPrism) are required.  This positionwould best suit someone with a background and interest in virology,microbiology, and/or immunology.  

This is a full-time co-operative position based in West Point, PA. Housing subsidy is not available for this position and must be funded 100% by the student.


  • Required: Candidates must be currently pursuing a minimum of a bachelor's degree in biology, microbiology, or a related field at an accredited college or university.

RequiredExperience and Skills:

  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for up to (6) consecutive months beginning in early or mid 2019.
  • Candidates must have experiencewith laboratory techniques such as cell culture, Western Blotting or ELISA,transfection, and other molecular biology techniques
  • Candidates must have a knowledgeof both Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and graphing software (GraphPadPrism).

PreferredExperience and Skills:

  • Candidates should have previous virologyor microbiology experience.
