Overview
The Intrax Forensic Department is well known as a key partner and provides services to the insurance industry, the legal and building dispute sector, asset owners and managers and the building and construction industry more broadly because of our ability to provide end to end service through accurate, innovative and robust technical expertise. The Forensic & Remedial department at Intrax seeks a forensic structural engineer to join our high performing team in Perth, WA. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our rapidly growing Forensic Department where you will get to use and further develop your skills and knowledge, work with esteemed national clients and be a part of a close knit team. You will be sharing our vision to be the most recognised and trusted engineering consultancy specialising in Forensic Engineering and Asset Remediation.
Your Day Will Be Busy And Varied including daily site inspections, investigations and reporting on structural failures, with opportunities to contribute to innovative process improvements and system automation.
Responsibilities
- Conducting forensic or asset maintenance site inspections in metropolitan and regional locations in your state, investigate, analyse and assess failures involving a variety of residential, commercial and industrial buildings and structures.
- Preparing written reports reporting on the cause of damage or failure, extent of damage and recommended remediation for all types of buildings and structures.
- Preparing documentation detailing the rectification and remedial repair solutions for construction issues and damaged structures.
- Client liaison.
- Assisting our Design teams where appropriate in providing technical expertise on complex projects.
- Be a part of innovation activities such as process improvement and system automation.
Qualifications
- 3-6 years of structural engineering design and/or forensic investigation experience. (Note that you may be a structural design engineer looking to enter the field of Forensic Engineering)
- Report writing experience
- Sound knowledge of engineering design principles and practices, such as footing/slab design, timber/steel residential framing design, masonry construction, civil/storm water design
- Thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian Standards, particularly those relating to residential, industrial, and commercial buildings and structures
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering - Civil or Structural (or equivalent)
- Valid White Card
- Valid and current driver’s license
