Financial Analyst

Grainger is a broad line, business-to-business distributor of maintenance, repair and operating (MRO) supplies and other related products and services. More than 3.2 million businesses and institutions worldwide rely on Grainger for products such as safety gloves, ladders, motors and janitorial supplies, along with services like inventory management and technical support. These customers represent a broad collection of industries including commercial, government, healthcare and manufacturing. They place orders online, on mobile devices, through sales representatives, over the phone and at local branches. Approximately 5,000 suppliers provide Grainger with more than 1.6 million products stocked in Grainger’s distribution centers and branches worldwide.


Financial Analyst 
Grainger’s Financial Development Program has 3 foundational pillars that include (1) Experience (2) Exposure and (3) Professional Development.   These pillars are highlighted below:

  • The program entails three one-year rotations where participants experience exponential growth technically, analytically and professionally.
  • Participants will work in areas such as operational finance (supporting business functions), specialist functions (Accounting, Treasury, Audit, Financial Shared Services) and Financial Planning & Analysis.  With opportunities available outside of the US.
  • Throughout the program, participants receive direct feedback from a peer-mentor, their manager and the program director to help them in their professional development.
  • Monthly access to Grainger’s senior Finance and business leaders though roundtable discussions.
  • Monthly developmental workshops to augment analytical skills and leadership skills.
  • Participants give back to the community through program organized philanthropy efforts and have great team building opportunities.
  • The Financial Development Program offers invaluable hands-on exposure to some of the most exciting financial challenges in the industry.  Since the program’s inception in 2000, the financial development program has produced over 75 financial experts and organizational leaders.
  • There is a structured onboarding process incorporating sessions with leaders, subject matter experts, and system training that is provided over the first 4 months of the program. 


Financial Development Program eligibility is outlined below:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or economics with a strong academic record and related work experience.
  • Intermediate level of expertise in MS Office is a required (especially Excel).
  • Proven analytical skills including an ability to synthesize information, reach logical conclusions, evaluate and improve processes.
  • Proven communication (written / verbal), interpersonal and leadership skills required
  • No Visa Sponsorship.
