Job Description:

- The Terminal Lab Lead is responsible for overseeing and directing the activities of Contractor personnel providing support under this contract in the field.

Job Responsibilities:

- Planning, coordinating, scheduling and directing operations and resources for terminal training simulation labs.
- Developing, operating and maintaining terminal simulation scenario library.
- Configuring and updating simulator capabilities to meet training requirements as defined in the Annual Work Plan.
- Maintaining simulation training documentation.
- Maintaining training lab schedule and focal for simulator scheduling changes.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:

- The Terminal Lab Lead must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last eight (8) years working as a CPC in a Terminal airport traffic control facility, with a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.

- Experience must have been at the same type and same level facility, and must have also been in a facility that uses the type of training labs for which these individuals are applying.

Required Skills:

- Terminal Lab Lead (CLIN Xx01S) Classroom Certification - The Terminal Lab Lead must complete FAA Facility Instructor Training (Course 10501) as space becomes available. The FAA will furnish this course at no tuition cost to the Contractor. The CO, with concurrence from the Director of Technical Training or designated representative, may waive the requirement in writing if an individual has previously completed the course. The Terminal Lab Lead is required to observe certified Instructors in one full class in order to be eligible for classroom certification, unless a written waiver is granted by the COR. The Terminal Lab Lead must teach a minimum of three (3) lesson plans under the observation of a certified Instructor. The COR or FAA designee will observe the Terminal Lab Lead for at least one (1) hour and document the performance using FAA’s Performance Evaluation Critique Sheets - Contract Instructor Evaluation – Classroom form, by indicating “Initial Classroom Certification” in the Operating Position Box. After completion of these requirements, the FAA COR or FAA designee will make a certification determination. Upon certification, the Terminal Lab Lead may teach any classroom lesson. The Terminal Lab Lead must be classroom certified within sixty (60) calendar days after reporting for duty at the facility. If initial certification is anticipated to extend beyond this requirement, a written waiver must be requested from the CO (or authorized representative). If the COR or FAA designee finds the Terminal Lab Lead to be deficient and unable to be certified, the CO (or authorized representative) will issue a determination that the unsuccessful Terminal Lab Lead is unqualified for continuation in his or her present job classification and must be precluded from working in that job classification under this contract.
- Laboratory Certification - The Terminal Lab Lead must have the knowledge and skills for each laboratory (radar, non-radar, etc.) they will teach.
- The Terminal Lab Lead must complete a written knowledge test developed by the FAA for each position/sector to be taught. Each sector knowledge test will be graded by the COR or FAA designee and must be passed with a score of at least seventy percent (70%).
- The Terminal Lab Lead must complete a minimum of five (5) but no more than twenty (20) simulation scenarios for each position/sector to be taught.
- The Terminal Lab Lead must observe at least ten (10) hours of developmental air traffic laboratory instruction conducted by certified instructors.
- The Terminal Lab Lead must conduct a minimum of three (3) hours of non-radar instruction, if applicable, and a minimum of three (3) hours of radar/radar associate laboratory instruction, under the observation of a certified instructor. The COR or FAA designee must evaluate the Terminal Lab Lead conducting one (1) hour of a non-graded simulation scenario of 80% complexity.
- The COR or FAA designee must document the Terminal Lab Lead’s performance on FAA’s Performance Evaluation Critique Sheets - Contract Instructor Review/Simulation Instruction, by indicating “Initial Simulation Laboratory Certification” in the Operation Position Box.
- The Terminal Lab Lead must be laboratory certified within the first one hundred twenty (120) calendar days of reporting for duty at the facility. If initial certification is anticipated to extend beyond this requirement, a written waiver must be requested from the CO (or authorized representative). If the COR or FAA designee finds the Terminal Lab Lead to be deficient and unable to be certified, the CO (or authorized representative) will issue a determination that the unsuccessful Terminal Lab Lead is unqualified for continuation in his/her present job classification and must be precluded from working in that job classification under this contract.

Education:

Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certification required.
