New Product Planner

As a New Product Planner at Micron Technology, Inc. your primary responsibility will be managing supply in response to demand changes.  This role specifically focuses on new product introductions (NPI) where demand represents early prototype samples for internal engineering teams and external customer qualifications.  Responsibilities include understanding sample requirements, using an SAP-based ERP solution to produce a supply solve that reserves capacity and materials, and working with manufacturing to enable efficient use of capacity to meet demand.  In addition to weekly planning responsibilities, NPI Planners are expected to identify, develop, and improve business processes.



  • Collaborate with engineering and business teams to collect NPI demand.  Ensure specific requirements are understood and documented.
  • Monitor and validate master data completeness and accuracy (parts and BOMs)
  • Validate information required to generate a supply response is correct, including yields, cycle time, site loading, capacity boundary conditions, etc.
  • Employ an SAP-based ERP solution to produce a weekly build plan that meets the business need
  • Confirm manufacturing teams purchase and reserve capacity to support NPI needs
  • Bring awareness of supply shortages to appropriate stakeholders.  Resolve supply gaps where possible.
  • Coordinate contractual-related logistics associated with Joint Ventures with external partners
  • Transfer responsibilities to high-volume planners after product has launched


Qualifications and Experience:

  • New college graduates considered, but candidates with 2+ years of experience in an operations-related role, such as planning, forecasting, manufacturing, logistics, procurement, or related experience is preferred
  • Understanding of supply chain concepts;  APICS-CPIM certification a plus
  • Experience working with metrics & analytics
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing
  • Experience leading process improvements
  • Familiarity with project management best practices;  PMP certification a plus
  • Ability to translate broad or general concepts into tangible deliverables
  • Proven problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to influence others using a variety of approaches with or without positional authority
  • Comfort in dealing with ambiguity



Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline such as Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field of study.
