Job DescriptionGeneral Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director, Business Intelligence, the Clinical Informatics Analyst supports the enhancement and optimization of Infinite Legacy’s internal electronic medical record (EMR) system, while also helping to enable seamless interoperability with external hospital EMRs. The analyst plays a key role as a translator between clinical operations and technical teams, contributing to integration, workflow design, user access, and EMR improvements that directly impact organ, eye, and tissue donation coordination.
The position requires travel to Infinite Legacy regional offices as well to hospitals within Infinite Legacy’s service area. This position is a Hybrid position.
Qualifications:
- Licensed clinical background (e.g., RN, RT, EMT, or other allied health professional) or experience in a healthcare setting with strong EMR exposure.
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare technology, clinical workflows, and data systems.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to engage both technical and clinical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with clinical systems, ticketing tools, and project management software.
- Experience using or supporting EMRs such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or other clinical systems.
- Exposure to health data exchange standards (HL7, FHIR) and API-based integrations.
- Coursework, certification, or current enrollment in a clinical informatics or health IT program.
- Experience supporting system testing, data validation, or user support.
- Change management experience within healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with the organ donation and transplantation process is a plus.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Internal EMR Optimization:
- Assist in the design, configuration, documentation, and testing of enhancements to Infinite Legacy’s internal EMR.
- Support usability improvements based on staff feedback, workflow analysis, and clinical requirements.
- Participate in EMR upgrade planning, testing, and implementation.
- Help document internal workflows and recommend system changes to streamline data capture and reduce manual effort.
External EMR Integration & Interoperability:
- Support API and interface optimization between Infinite Legacy’s EMR and partner hospital EMRs to improve timely and accurate data exchange.
- Work with technical teams and hospital IT departments on EMR integration projects, including HL7 and FHIR-based data sharing.
- Monitor, investigate, and help resolve interface or data flow issues, ensuring data integrity across systems.
Clinical–Technical Collaboration:
- Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and technical developers, accurately translating clinical needs into system requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional discussions with internal teams and hospital partners to support data alignment, workflow clarity, and process automation.
- Assist with change management, user education, and go-live support for clinical system changes.
Access Management & User Support:
- Manage advanced user provisioning, permission changes, and deactivations for external EMRs and integrated systems.
- Resolve escalated access and authentication issues, coordinating with external vendors and internal IT as needed.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation aligned with security and compliance standards.
- Collaborate on role definitions, access policies, and workflow improvements to enhance system usability and security.
Governance & Compliance:
- Maintain working knowledge of relevant data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, SNOMED-CT), HIPAA compliance, and donation-specific data protocols (e.g., OPTN/UNOS).
- Support documentation of system requirements, test cases, and issue resolution in accordance with project and compliance standards.
