Job Description -

Role - Costing Engineer

Location: Pan India

Exp Range: 4-9yrs

Parts: Automotive Electrical / Electronic Parts / E-Powertrain / Battery /Battery Pack

Role Overview -

Costing Engineer is responsible for Estimating, Analyzing and Managing Costs for Automotive

e-Powertrain / Battery / Battery Pack Parts for Project based initiatives.

The role ensures projects / Parts / Components are accurately budgeted based on Zero Based Costing, monitored and kept within financial constraints while maximizing efficiency and profitability. They support strategic decision-making through detailed cost assessments and on-going Variance Control (Engineering Change Management)

Key Responsibilities -

· Analyze Engineering Plans, Specifications, Blueprints / Drawings and BOMs to determine materials, Labor, Equipment and overhead costs.

· Work closely with Design / Marketing / Sourcing / Quality team to understand the requirements of the component

· Capable enough to make Zero-based costing based on the BOM / available data.

· Should have good knowledge on Part Costing and Tool Costing

· Should have good knowledge on Raw Material Cost movements

· Develop and maintain cost databases, cost breakdown structures and pricing models

· Monitor Actual expenditure vs forecasted budgets, identify variances and recommend corrective measures.

· Evaluate supplier quotes and contribute to procurement from a cost standpoint.

· Generate Periodic Cost performance reports and present findings to stakeholders

· Support Change Management by estimating cost impacts of revisions and variations

Qualifications -

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical / E&E/Instrumentation)

· Minimum Experience: 3 Years in Part Costing / Sourcing in Automotive / Auto-Ancillary industry

Technical & Software skills -

· Expertise in Cost Estimation techniques: bottom-up, parametric, analogous, three points.

· Expert knowledge in MS-Office

· TCPCM knowledge is an added advantage
