About The Position

 We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for a 36-day locum tenens assignment at a hospital in California. This opportunity starts on 08/04/2025 and requires coverage for night shifts from 7 pm to 7 am. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a trauma center, handling a wide range of emergency conditions including chest pain, uncontrolled bleeding, severe pain, respiratory distress, and major trauma. The position involves 6 twelve-hour night shifts per month, providing critical emergency care and managing acute medical situations.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide emergency medical care during night shifts in a trauma center

• Assess and treat patients with various acute conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Chest pain or pressure
  • Uncontrolled bleeding
  • Sudden or severe pain
  • Coughing or vomiting blood
  • Large open wounds
  • Changes in mental status
  • Sudden changes in vision
  • Difficulty in breathing
  • Major burns
  • Sudden dizziness or weakness

• Perform emergency procedures and interventions as needed

• Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals

• Manage patient care from admission to discharge or transfer

• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using the Paragon system

• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols


Additional Information:

• Must be comfortable working night shifts

• Experience in a trauma center preferred

• California medical license required

• Familiarity with Paragon EHR system is beneficial

• Possibility of assignment extension
