About the Role
Uniting AgeWell's Strath-Haven Community Facility provides high-quality care and support to residents, ensuring they live with dignity and comfort in a vibrant, homely environment. The newly completed Reservoir Wing heralds a new era in aged care, with intimate dining rooms, light-filled lounges, spacious bedroom suites, and seamless connections to the outdoors.
We are currently seeking passionate and caring individuals to join our team as Personal Care Workers on a permanent part-time basis.Our fixed fortnightly roster includes a commitment to at least one day per weekend with shifts available in either AM or PM patterns.
Key Responsibilities
As a Personal Care Worker at Strath-Haven, you will:
- Deliver personal care, including showering, grooming, dressing, and mobility assistance.
- Support residents with daily living tasks such as meal assistance and maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.
- Monitor residents’ physical, emotional, and behavioral well-being, promptly reporting any concerns.
- Encourage social engagement and assist with recreational and group activities.
- Provide care to residents with complex needs, including palliative care, dementia support, and pain management, to enhance their well-being.
- Support nursing staff with assessments, documentation, and evaluation of care outcomes.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the environment, promptly addressing any issues.
- Available vacancies are permanent part time:
- Thursday to Saturday 2.45pm-10pm
- Sunday to Wednesday 7am-3pm

About you:
A caring and empathetic nature is essential, along with a commitment to supporting residents to live with dignity and comfort. You’ll build strong relationships with residents and their families while contributing to a high-quality, person-centred care environment. You bring:
- The ability to work a part-time roster from the above mentioned vacancies
- Excellent organisational skills, with a focus on maintaining safe, clean, and supportive environments for residents.
- A strong understanding of the person-centred approach in residential care, with dedication to delivering high standards for residents and their families.
- A really great mindset to cope well with change as well as think broadly and supportively, with caring and kindness with the resident at the heart of everything you do
- The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment while building meaningful one-on-one connections with residents.
- A commitment to our organisational values and the BEST philosophy—Believe, Excel, Support, and Trust.
Essentials to work in Aged Care:
- Qualification: A completed Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, or currently undertaking a Nursing qualification.
- First Aid & CPR: Current certifications or willingness to obtain
- Working with Children Check: Victorian - Employee
- National Criminal Police Record Check or NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Annual Vaccinations as required
- Australian Work Rights
