We are recruiting UK-trained GPs to join established clinics founded by a UK GP. These clinics are located in a great area with DPA status, just an hour from Sydney. The UK GP owner will be in the UK in July and can meet prospective doctors in person.
The Role
Positions are available across three medical centres in the Wollongong area. The owner, a UK-trained GP, is seeking UK-trained GPs to join his team. The clinics are designed to be comfortable and pleasant workplaces, set up to UK standards, with plans to develop further centres and become an accredited teaching practice.
The centres each accommodate four GPs, are fully computerised, equipped with treatment rooms, on-site pathology, and supported by experienced practice managers, full-time nurses, and receptionists. An extensive induction will be provided on arrival.
These mixed-billing clinics have a solid patient base, with appointments booked at 15 minutes. The patient demographic includes a significant proportion of over-65s and working families, with potential opportunities to service nursing homes.
Operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm, with Saturdays on a shared 1-in-4 roster. GPs are encouraged to work four days a week.
Benefits include 70% billings, a minimum earnings guarantee for the first three months, future partnership opportunities, six weeks' annual leave, and support with relocation. Earnings can reach up to $10,000 per week once established.
We have successfully placed GPs in these practices before, and they have reported high job satisfaction.
The Location
Wollongong is located 50 miles south of Sydney, with a population of approximately 300,000. It features beautiful beaches, a backdrop of green and sandstone cliffs from the Illawarra Escarpment, and a multicultural, university town atmosphere. The city offers vibrant nightlife, arts, museums, gardens, beaches, and various daytime activities.
