2025 Macquarie Sports Scholarship Program
Join to apply for the 2025 Macquarie Sports Scholarship Program role at Macquarie Group.
Macquarie Sports Scholarships enable the transition from the sporting arena to the workplace for elite athletes with an interest in finance and banking. This is an opportunity for athletes to develop their skills and build a professional network through an 11-week paid summer internship, while giving back via Macquarie's community sports programs.

You must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen to be eligible for our Graduate and Internship Programs.
What role will you play?
As a Macquarie Sports Scholar, you’ll gain professional experience to set you up for a successful corporate career. You will work on impactful projects, build new skills, explore interesting fields, and do challenging work.
- Participate in an 11-week paid summer internship in one of Macquarie’s business groups.
- Take part in volunteering opportunities with Macquarie Sports' projects/programs, such as sports clinics and functions.
- Network with alumni, summer interns, and sporting and not-for-profit organizations.
What You Offer
- You are an ambitious, focused, and well-organized elite athlete committed to pursuing a corporate career.
- You have represented at national and/or state levels in sport within the past three years.
- You have a career interest in banking and finance.
- You are available during the nominated period for your placement.
- You demonstrate high academic performance at tertiary level.
- You do not currently have full-time employment.
- Applications from students with all degree backgrounds are welcome.
About Macquarie Sports
Macquarie Sports, part of the Macquarie Group Foundation, has provided opportunities for over 200,000 children since 1999, focusing on regional, rural, and marginalized communities. It collaborates with peak sporting bodies and offers grants to reduce barriers for young people in Australia. The scholarship program supports elite athletes in transitioning to corporate careers.
