About This Opportunity

The UQ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Graduate Program accelerates careers by building on your bachelor's degree with tailored practical skill development. Key responsibilities will include:

Information & Administrative Support

  • Provide information and advice to the UQ community and external stakeholders, process routine requests and documentation, and offer secretariat support to committees.

Strategic & Operational Assistance

  • Assist with the development and implementation of organisational strategy, action plans, and procedures, while contributing to internal, government, and regulatory reporting, quality assurance, and risk management processes.

Stakeholder Liaison & Content Management

  • Liaise with staff and students across UQ units and external stakeholders on specific matters, and assist with managing the accuracy of information in University databases, websites, and publications.

Event Participation & Professional Growth

  • Assist with planning and participating in key events like Open Days and Orientation, and actively engage in professional development opportunities provided by the University.

About You

Essential

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree within the last three years (awarded before commencing the program).

  • Demonstrated strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and work with high accuracy and attention to detail.

  • High-level written and oral communication skills, coupled with effective interpersonal skills, particularly when engaging with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. This includes the confidence to exercise initiative and judgement and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic environment.

  • High-level computer proficiency with software like Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), with a commitment to cultural diversity, inclusion, ethical practice principles, and workplace health and safety.

  • A pre-existing connection to UQ.
