As the Program Manager for Enabling Capabilities at the Cumming Global Centre, you'll play a pivotal role in driving innovation in infectious disease research. You'll have the opportunity to develop and implement sustainable operating models for cutting-edge research facilities, collaborate with world-class scientists, and shape the future of global health initiatives. Your expertise will be crucial in maximising the impact of advanced technologies and methodologies in the fight against infectious diseases.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop Strategic Operating Models: Create and implement sustainable business and operating models for enabling capabilities, focusing on organoid models, humanised mice, and PC4 high containment systems.
  • Coordinate Advisory Groups: Establish and manage technical advisory groups to ensure optimal engagement and utilisation of enabling capabilities.
  • Foster Collaborative Relationships: Develop and maintain partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to support the establishment and operation of enabling capabilities.
  • Drive Project Implementation: Coordinate the implementation of activities related to enabling capabilities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Manage Financial Sustainability: Assist in identifying co-funding opportunities and develop sustainable financial models for technical service provision.

You may be a great fit if:

You are a highly motivated professional with a strong scientific background and exceptional project management skills, capable of driving complex initiatives in a dynamic research environment while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.

You may also:

  • Hold a Master's Degree or PhD in Biological Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Have demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Possess excellent organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Have experience in managing budgets and developing sustainable financial models.
  • Be adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Have familiarity with University of Melbourne reporting systems and processes (desirable).
  • Possess experience in managing activities related to infectious diseases, large data, or bioinformatics (desirable).
