Throughout the halls and across the walls of both hotels, you'll find engaging pieces of history, art, and stories that connect our guests to the beautiful state of Tasmania.What can you expect in a day in this role?As a part of the Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our 114 rooms at MACq 01 Hotel and 56 rooms at The Henry Jones Art Hotel as well as their general areas, are consistently presented and maintained to an exceptional standard. As our Painter, your responsibilities will include:Preparing surfaces for painting including cleaning, sanding and repairing as neededApplying paint or other finishes to variety of surfaces such as walls, ceilings furniture and fixturesEnsure proper coverage and smooth finishEnsure proper safety protocols are adhered toAssist with other tasks such's as furnishes restoration, staining and varnishing and other tasks around the propertyWhat you will bring to the role:Along with a professional demeanour and ability to multitask, you will bring the following:Proven experience as a professional painter, preferably in a hotel or guest service environmentKnowledge of various painting techniques, tools and materialsThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent organisational and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and excellent colour perception; andWillingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as needed.This role may appeal to someone seeking to advance their career as a painter and/or decorator, with the chance to learn and develop alongside an experienced, qualified tradesperson.What you can expect from us:Along with this fantastic role and Federal Hospitality discounts across our hospitality and tourism properties, you will also receive:Delicious FREE staff meal available per shiftAccess to hundreds of discounts across many brands, helping you save on everyday expenses, including phone bills, fuel and groceries, fashion, restaurants, and entertainmentSupportive work environment with learning and development opportunitiesInterested?
