North Coast Region are looking for a knowledgeable, collaborative and enthusiastic curriculum leader to work with a cluster of small schools in implementing the Australian Curriculum with integrity.
You will work across the cluster as Head of Department (Curriculum) on a temporary full-time basis, until the end of 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About The Clusters
There are three clusters as part of this initiative, with details provided below:
- The host school for this cluster is Dagun State School. The other schools in the cluster are Kia-Ora State School, Kin Kin State School, Gunalda State School, and Widgee State School.
- The host school for this cluster is Bauple State School. The other schools in the cluster are Brooweena State School, Gundiah State School, Mungar State School, Parke State School, and Tiaro State School.
- The host school for this cluster is Gayndah State School. The other schools in the cluster are Binjour Plateau State School, Boynewood State School, and Mount Perry State School.
State and commonwealth funding have established a pilot to trial different approaches to using a Head of Department (Curriculum) to support a cluster of small schools. This pilot will run until the end of 2026.
The pilot supports various implementation approaches, including virtual support for schools, traveling to schools at different times, or a combination of both. These will depend on the geographical features of the cluster, the needs of the schools, and the flexibility of the successful applicant.
About The Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the curriculum across schools to develop, articulate, and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with students, parents, and colleagues across schools and clusters.
