About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our Group Finance Division within our Reporting and Control team.
Reporting into the Group’s financial control team, the primary focus of the Assistant Financial Accountant is to undertake a range of accounting tasks including preparing and processing journals, completing account reconciliations, reporting financial information, and providing administrative support to the finance team.
The role is responsible for ensuring allocated month-end tasks, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting activities are completed in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
The role collaborates with Group Financial Accountants and assists Senior Financial Accountants and Group Finance Managers to meet management and statutory reporting deadlines.
About You
The key skills and experience we are looking for include:
- Bachelor of Business/Commerce (Accounting) or currently studying professional qualification in Accountancy (CPA or CA) is well regarded but not mandatory.
- Experience working with accounting systems is essential.
- Understanding and experience with financial reporting and management accounting.
- Exposure to general ledger and month-end closure processes including reconciliations and substantiation.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Experience in creditors reconciliations.
Knowledge & Competencies
- Ability to work directly with other Financial Accounting staff.
- Consistent ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
