Bloomberg Intelligence ("BI") conducts in-depth equity, fixed income, legal and policy research on large and midsize companies to help investors and industry professionals effectively evaluate those companies and the broader markets. We also produce extensive regional and global equity and fixed-income strategy research.
Our research combines written analysis with interactive charting and analytics created from company-reported data as well as industry and government data. Our work gives trading, investment and industry professionals and other Bloomberg Terminal clients deep insight into where crucial sectors or regions stand and where they may be heading.
We’re looking for an experienced editor who thrives under real-time deadline pressure in a complex, innovative environment. This role entails editing forward-looking, creative and insightful financial research that's critical to the specialist and accessible to the generalist. You'll play a key role in helping analysts develop and maintain their franchises, using strategic publishing, data visualization, multichannel distribution and broad cross-firm collaboration. You can translate jargon and complex ideas into clear language. You'll be a key part of our growth and innovation, helping us raise our skills and expand readership. The successful editor can multitask across diverse platforms, collaborate and wear multiple hats, in a real-time environment.
We'll trust you to:
Deploy strong writing, editing, multimedia and data visualization skills
Handle deadline pressure in a real-time environment
Edit short-form research to be compelling and concise
Edit long-form reports for story arc/narrative flow, cohesiveness and consistency
Be a team player who can collaborate across teams and departments
Be able to adjust to role changes
You'll need to have:
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
At least 10 years of editing experience
Experience editing at a financial news outlet or in the financial services industry or for a wire service
Experience editing or writing news or research related to equities, credit markets, or economies
Proficiency in both written and spoken English. Outstanding written communication skills
Extensive experience working with analysts or with financial journalists in a real-time environment
The ability to collaborate with a wide range of personalities, and to keep calm under deadline pressure
Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
We'd love to see:
Strong multimedia and data visualization skills, audio and video editing skills
Familiarity with the Bloomberg system
