Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to support design, prototyping, and testing of electro-mechanical systems, including remote weapon stations. The role involves building and testing prototypes, troubleshooting, and collaborating with engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support project tasks and deliverables.
  2. Assist in building prototypes, subassemblies, and test units.
  3. Refine prototype designs by identifying manufacturability and performance issues.
  4. Interpret drawings, diagrams, and instructions for testing and assembly.
  5. Support component sourcing and work with suppliers.
  6. Fabricate or assemble test equipment as needed.
  7. Use data acquisition tools like high-speed video and data loggers.
  8. Document build processes, test results, and procedures.
  9. Maintain 5S standards and comply with ISO, EH&S, and security protocols.
  10. Travel locally and occasionally internationally for training, testing, and system maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a prototype or engineering lab environment.
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with hand and power tools, and troubleshooting integrated systems.
  • Ability to document and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD experience is a plus.
  • Firearms operation experience is preferred.
  • S. Person status required for access to export-controlled data.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic work environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach, bend, and twist.
  • Wearing PPE as required.
