Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.The OrganisationYou will be working for a well established manufacturing organisation who have recently undergone a period of significant change and growth, they are now well established for their next stage which includes the addition of a Procurement Manager, their first procurement role and the opportunity to start the function from scratch.The OpportunityThe Procurement Manager will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of procurement and supply chain activities within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, components, and services, in alignment with production demands. It focuses on risk mitigation, supply chain optimisation, and the development of strong supplier relationships. Distinct from day-to-day purchasing functions, this position is centred on long-term planning and strategic supplier management.Skills and Experience RequiredYou will be someone who has operated within a strategic procurement role for minimum 5+ years, with the ability and knowledge to establish a procurement function from the ground up. Experience in operating within a manufacturing or industrial setting is a mandatory requirement for this position, given niche experience and knowledge that will be required around direct sourcing of raw materials and services for the manufacturing operation. Importantly experience with supplier development, negotiation, and risk mitigation strategies, will be key to the success of this position.
