You will be responsible for the overall performance of distribution operations across one or more locations, ensuring the achievement of all agreed financial and operational objectives.

Your Role

You will play a key role in our drive towards customer excellence. Your workforce is diverse, including outsourced partners and employees, so much of your day will be focused on problem solving, thinking outside the box, and being innovative. Start your day by reviewing current performance against your KPIs. Where we have closed recent opportunities, review onboarding and implementation plans with your team, focusing on zero failure to ensure we deliver as promised. Staying one step ahead of potential issues will be key. You will be steadfast in ensuring your operation is fully compliant with all licenses, QSHE, dangerous goods requirements, both internal and external. Then review all factors contributing to excellence across our operations, troubleshooting concerns, and implementing sustainable solutions to continue evolving customer relationships, building trust, and enabling new opportunities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage, plan, and organize staff and transport sub-contractors (including company fleet and drivers where applicable).
  • Work closely with warehouse management teams to ensure efficient operational execution within a collaborative environment.
  • Achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) in cost management, productivity, customer service, profit, safety, and compliance, aligned with our policies.
  • Ensure your teams deliver against their customer, site, and people KPIs.
  • Lead all activities related to customer onboarding, retention, and operational excellence, while supporting business development teams.
  • Drive productivity through engagement activities, fostering continuous improvement to meet or exceed targets.
  • Provide information for tenders and proposals to support new business acquisition and existing business retention.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Minimum of 10+ years in logistics, distribution, 3PL, and operations, preferably in managerial or strategic roles.
  • Proven leadership skills to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to delivering exceptional value.
  • Strategic thinking to anticipate trends and challenges and set clear directions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to develop actionable solutions.
  • Financial acumen, including understanding budgets and sustainable growth.
  • Adaptability to thrive under pressure and during challenges.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards, local legislation, and regulations.
  • Experience in fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
