Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Associate Needed for Locum Tenens Coverage atFacility in Southern Illinois

A level two trauma facility with 175 beds is seeking a cardiothoracic surgery physician associate for locum tenens coverage.
Southern Illinois is full of beautiful walking trails, waterfalls, and mountains! While on assignment, visit Ferne Clyffe State Park, Giant City State Park, or Shawnee National Forest!
The role includes minimal clinic duties, OR blocks, and 24-hour call coverage. Responsibilities include first assisting with heart and lung cases, performing EVH, and providing post-op care such as suture and staple removal, wound care, and patient education. Clinic duties are minimal, typically from 9 AM to 11 AM once or twice a week. Call coverage involves 24-hour shifts, with rounding and emergent cases, while phone calls are handled by the surgeons. Currently, the team sees 1-2 cases per day.
