Procurement Specialist - Transportation and Logistics services

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Sourcing Plans: Analyse market trends and business needs to design effective sourcing strategies for transportation and logistics services for the business across Australia and NZ.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Negotiation and Contracting: Lead contract negotiations to secure favourable terms while adhering to company policies and compliance standards.
  • Specialised Contracts: Oversee contracts related to road and sea freight, the transportation of hazardous materials and industrial gases, and the delivery of materials for new plant construction projects. In addition to a broader business category focus.
  • Data Analysis: Utilise data analytics to monitor supplier performance, optimise costs, and forecast future sourcing needs.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including operations, finance, and engineering, to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals.
  • Risk Management: Mitigate supply chain risks through strategic planning and proactive problem-solving.
  • Sustainability: Drive sustainable sourcing practices, ensuring alignment with the company’s environmental and social responsibility objectives.

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven skills in sourcing or procurement to hit the ground running and be able to work autonomously and bring a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience developing sourcing strategies and working with suppliers in transportation and logistics is key.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field would be beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of market trends and industry best practices.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Results-oriented and self-motivated.
