Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Paramedic to join our team in providing high-quality medical care. As a Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls (calls occur predominantly on racetracks), assessing patient conditions, and delivering timely and effective medical interventions. Your expertise and compassion will play a vital role in providing essential healthcare services to our customers and clients across various areas of event and patient transport settings.
Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to calls at client sites or within a patient transport setting, using your knowledge and skills to assess and prioritize patient needs.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including evaluating vital signs, obtaining medical histories, and performing physical examinations.
- Administer appropriate medical treatments and interventions based on protocols and guidelines, such as administering medications, immobilizing injuries, and managing pain.
- Safely transport patients to medical facilities, ensuring their comfort and providing ongoing monitoring and care during transit.
- Communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals to provide clear explanations of procedures, gather relevant information, and coordinate care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient information, including assessments, interventions, medications administered, and other relevant data, in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
- Continuously update your knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development, attending training programs, and staying informed about advancements in emergency medical practices.
- Adhere to established protocols, guidelines, and ethical standards to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with other emergency response personnel, such as police officers and firefighters, to ensure a coordinated and efficient response to situations.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited paramedic program recognized by the relevant Australian authorities.
- Existing experience from state ambulance or other private sector services beneficial.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration as a Paramedic with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification and proficiency in advanced medical procedures and interventions.
- Strong clinical assessment skills, including the ability to quickly and accurately evaluate patient conditions and make appropriate treatment decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals in diverse and high-pressure situations.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive in emergency situations, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting and moving patients, in various environments and conditions.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality, adhering to professional ethics, and upholding the highest standards of patient care.
- Valid Australian driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Clean police record.
