DESCRIPTION
Amazon's Direct Imports Team is seeking a Supply Chain Analyst to help transform global supply chains and accelerate business growth.
The role involves end-to-end ownership of the import supply chain processes from Manufacturer to Fulfillment Center availability. The analyst will develop innovative inventory management strategies to enhance customer experience, optimize sales, and maximize margins.
Direct Imports is a strategic initiative with long-term impact and significant growth. The individual will collaborate with various Amazon teams (Operations, Global Logistics, Supply Chain Technology, Retail, Finance) and external partners to support new initiatives and drive continuous improvement, focusing on Hardlines and/or Consumables categories.
The successful candidate is an innovator, communicator, influencer, and problem solver who uses data-driven approaches to address complex supply chain challenges. The position offers opportunities to influence high-impact areas across the organization.

Key job responsibilities
- Support functions related to inventory, including forecasting, ordering, capacity management, and inventory health
- Assist ISMs with import ordering strategies to balance domestic and import sourcing
- Engage in automation and system auditing activities
- Optimize supply chain and reduce defects with operations teams
- Monitor and analyze KPIs such as vendor import share, out-of-stock rates, lead times, fill rates, unhealthy inventory, and forecast accuracy

- Analyze KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and develop action plans
- Build reports to support business decisions
- Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency
- Achieve goals related to POs and forecasting accuracy
About the team
The International Expansions team supports launching new Amazon marketplaces globally. Our Global Retail Imports program works with top vendors through direct imports for emerging markets. Our team is based in Mexico and Seattle, collaborating with stakeholders in Australia, Mexico, Canada, Singapore, UAE, and the US.
This role is based in Amazon's Sydney office, with a 5-day in-office work requirement as of 2025.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 years of experience in planning and working with stakeholders in finance or commercial roles
- Over 2 years of experience in retail, project management, supply chain, inventory, sourcing, finance, or consulting
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification
- Proficiency in Excel (including macros), SQL, report building, and handling large data sets
- Fluent in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with international supply chain/import challenges, preferably in retail
- Experience in direct imports or long-distance logistics
- Experience with purchasing or inventory management in e-commerce or retail
- Skills in BI tools, report/dashboard creation
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies like Kaizen, Lean, or Six Sigma
